Canadian Author Keith Landry Wins Second International Book Impact Award for Allumette Island Massacre

Regina, SK – Acclaimed Canadian author Keith Landry has been honoured with his second International Book Impact Award, this time for his gripping historical true crime work, Allumette Island Massacre. The book was selected from over 40 entries in the Historical category in April 2025.

Allumette Island Massacre recounts one of Canada’s most chilling rural tragedies—the brutal murder of family members by Michael Bradley over a land dispute on Allumette Island in the Pontiac region of Western Quebec on July 20, 1933. Landry’s meticulous research and compelling storytelling take readers through the intense murder investigation, two dramatic trials, and ultimately, Bradley’s hanging in Campbell’s Bay in 1935.

This award further cements Landry’s growing reputation as one of Canada’s most impactful historical authors. With more than two dozen titles to his name, his work continues to illuminate the darker, lesser-known corners of Canadian history.

“I’m deeply honoured to receive this recognition,” said Landry. “This story, tragic as it is, reflects the complexity of rural life, justice, and family conflict in early 20th century Canada. I’m grateful that it has resonated with readers and judges alike.”

Landry’s previous win came just four months ago, further demonstrating his consistency and excellence in historical storytelling.

Allumette Island Massacre is available now in bookstores and online.
